About this microcredential

This microcredential is one of five individual microcredentials that together comprise the first of its kind 3D Visualization for the Built environment, a stacked microcredential program that allows learners to develop in-demand skills in the architecture, engineering, construction and planning sectors. 3D Visualization has revolutionized how buildings and spaces are designed, constructed, operated and maintained. Evaluating how and where to employ it efficiently and successfully is an emerging in-demand skill set. Upon successful completion of all five microcredentials, learners can obtain the digital milestone badge.

Microcredentials in this series:

What will you learn?

You will explore the 3D modelling software interface, how to create 2D/3D objects with simple and advanced drawing tools, how to assess the impact of building massing on existing structures through shadow analysis, how to design 3D models, and to curate animations and renderings of 3D models.

How does this prepare you for the low carbon economy?

You will learn about modelling, which can be used to assess the ability to achieve climate mitigation efforts through a thorough assessment of building design, materials and systems to construct and operate as sustainably as possible. Evaluating how and where to employ modelling efficiently and successfully is an emerging in-demand skill set.
