Training Description

Have you ever wondered how electricity works and how batteries keep systems running? This course will teach you the basics of voltage, current, and resistance using Ohm’s Law, and how these concepts work together in circuits. You’ll learn how to calculate equivalent resistance in series and parallel circuits and understand the fundamentals of batteries and power in DC systems. We’ll also explore how batteries charge and discharge, along with different charging methods and safety considerations. By the end, you’ll have the knowledge to work confidently with basic electrical systems and battery technology.

Language

Upon completion, the learner will be able to:

  • Discuss the relationship between voltage, current, and resistance using Ohm's Law
  • Discuss battery fundamentals
  • Discuss battery charging principles

The training directly supports energy-efficient retrofits in homes and buildings by equipping participants with the skills to safely install and maintain renewable energy systems. Trainees will learn how to properly size and integrate technologies such as solar panels, wind turbines, and geothermal systems, reducing energy waste and improving system performance. The curriculum includes battery storage and energy management strategies, which are essential for optimizing energy use and lowering carbon emissions. By ensuring installations are done safely and correctly, the program contributes to long-term reliability and supports low-carbon building goals. Overall, this training builds workforce capacity to deliver clean energy solutions that reduce energy consumption and support climate action targets.
