Training Description

Residential Deep Energy Retrofit Fundamentals is a SAIT Micro-credential course that introduces the principles, strategies, and planning considerations used in residential deep energy retrofit projects. Participants explore common retrofit approaches, climate resilience, home electrification, homeowner motivations, and the factors that influence retrofit decision-making. The course also examines collaborative planning processes and integrated design approaches that support successful retrofit outcomes.

Designed for professionals working in residential construction, renovation, design, or related fields, this training is ideal for those preparing to contribute to deep energy retrofit projects or strengthen their understanding of retrofit planning. Foundational knowledge of residential building science and building performance principles is strongly recommended.
